Your morning fashion and beauty report: 'It's my job,' says World's Most Beautiful Woman Jennifer Lopez

Ajlo
-- Jennifer Lopez, World's Most Beautiful Woman on People's annual list, is indeed gorgeous, and she looks fresh and natural on the cover of the magazine. But, ladies, don't think it's as easy as it looks. Her cover shoot for the magazine involved makeup artist Mary Mitchell, hairstylist Lorenzo Martin and foundation, peach blush, brown eyeliner, powder, shimmery shadow, lip liner, lipstick, gloss, a curling iron, styling serum -- you know, the works.
-- Lopez is upfront about the place of beauty in her life. "It's part of my job," she says. And we say, well done!
-- But watch out! Jennifer reveals she paints her son's toenails too. Maybe she won't get into as much trouble as J. Crew's Jenna Lyons did for a similar motherly "offense," as our Deborah Netburn  Then again, she uses blue paint, not the pink Lyons' son wants.

It could have been Paris, New York or Milan but it was Dunedin and once again the iD Fashion Show at the railway station did not disappoint.
International designer Akira Isogawa, fresh from showing his collection at Paris Fashion week, entertained the 1500 capacity crowd at last night's show with his collection.
His garments ranged from flowing dresses with extensive shell textures to heavy black and gold embossed long jackets. These showed the audience why he was named designer of the year at the Australian Fashion Industry Awards in 1999.
Auckland fashion designer Liz Mitchell’s evening wear was spectacular. The detailed work in every garment was extensive with silk velvets, pleating, and cashmere wool blends.
The show, now a must on the calendar of the fashion forward, opened with well known Dunedin labels Carlson and Nom *D.
Last year Carlson’s collection was masculine and dark. This year she was back to her feminine floaty looks with flowing dresses and colour.
Hot pink was popular with Carlson and many other designers. Bronze, paisley and velvet also featured in her collection.
Mild Red stood out. The range was darker this year but didn’t disappoint. The black knight collection featured charcoals, silver and black with armoured vests and hoods.
There was not a lot of colour in any of the ranges but when it did appear it was bold and loud, such as the hot pinks and the in-your-face colour overload of Liz Ung.
Knee high socks, skinny jeans and over-sized jerseys featured along with short shorts, dresses above the knee, lace and tassels.
Attention was focused on the waist with most jackets and tops tied at the waist.
The night finished with the Darnell Collection. This was a peak at some of the 3000 pieces in the vintage collection including 1960s Dior and Chanel.
